It's a Wrap! Summer Wrap Dress Pattern Release!
Share
It’s been a long time coming but I am so excited to introduce my first real garment release! Here is the ‘It’s a Wrap’, a beautiful beach coverup dress. I love this design because its both simple but complex at the same time! The simple wrap shape makes it so practical to use at the beach or as an alternative to a cardigan or shawl on those chilly summer nights.
To create this design all you need to know are a few simple stitches. The pattern uses a combination of single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet and increases and decreases. It’s a perfect first garment for any advanced beginner crocheter. Once you have the simple repeat down it is very easy to work on and makes for a fast craft.

Idea Behind the Design
When thinking of designs I usually start with the question ‘What would I wear?’ I’ve been seeing these wrap around beach coverups alot recently on various high street retailers. I thought these were so clever. It’s easy to throw into a bag and take on the go. Also so easy to wear when your swimming costume is wet. The construction of the piece is so simple, the only seams you have to make is the attaching of the straps!
